In the main series proper, grunts are usually expendable, the name they have is more of a formality than anything else, one off battles to be promptly forgotten later on. So, say what you will about Reborn, but they do a cool thing with their evil team grunt. Currently a reserve for more powerful pokemon, didn’t do much either here nor last gym (psychic). Sets up Light Screen and reflect, then lowers enemy special attack with the pitiful damage from Strugglebug before it dies like the low stated one trick pony he is. Single-Handledly Close Combated in one hit half of Luna team, Umbreon the Chesire Cat, Absol the White Rabbit, ? the Weavile (focus sash fortunately rendered useless by the poison spikes and Fierce’s sacrifice) and Tyranitar the Bandersnatch, ending with a -4 on special and normal defense. The fist that fists the Dark four times in a row. Tried her best but died before she could kill the Weavile (can’t remember the name). Given to me by her trainer because she couldn’t train her properly, recent addition to the team. Sets up poison spikes and then dies to Carpenter the steel type. Mostly kept to have something to deal with electric types and fairies, and also to create a parallel with Cain own Nidoking (Power Couple of Kings perhaps?). Currently the healthiest pokemon among all of my pokemon and the only thing I can use to deal with flying or water types. Mareep escaped from her owner during the Jasper and Beryl disasters, calmed down and added to the team afterwards. Kills the Carpenter due to it being steel, and sets up sunny day to brighten the dark cave, dying to the tyranitar afterwards.
